February Meeting Notes

Mike was at volunteer training so our breakfast meeting was hosted by Wendy Dickerman.

📚Review of Last Month📚- Over 80 people at our January meeting. We also had a great ride to Tortilla flats where we hit the twisties and had a blast. After 13 of our members continued the ride and went to the Commemorative Air Force based and got a personal tour and even got to get up in to a B17. At the end of the month, Roxanne Skeen hosted a WOW gathering.
The annual BMMC Poker Run is coming up on 3/21/26. Our hosts Patrick, Linda, & Tanya gave us an update with all the details. This run takes a lot so there is a large committee also to recognize - Howard Schnitz, Tom Clements, and many more volunteers. The Poker Run is our only fund raiser for the club. WE NEED ATTENDANCE from the club members so please make sure you join and bring guests. This year you will get a raffle ticket for every hand you buy. The ride is about 70 miles, and the route starts in Fountain Hills at 8am. You can come early as they are open for breakfast at 7am. We have a great ride that ends at the Cove. Brad the owner can’t wait to have us back and is giving us 10% off our bills. If you have any donations - unused items that motorcycle enthusiasts would like or gift cards $50 or more.
Please if you are on Facebook, please go in to the event and click ‘going’. Also share that event which is on our Public facebook group (the white logo), not the members only post (black logo). The more we share the more visibility we have.
🕦Up & Coming🕦- Dinner social on Wed 2/18. 3rd Saturday ride is to the Dwarf museum, hosted by Wayne & Doug. This is a shorter ride, but packed with a lot of fun. The club hasn’t been there for over 8 years. We are meeting up at 9am in Scottsdale. More information will be sent out later today. Please RSVP.
The April ride to Skull Valley/Prescott. There are a few hotels that we are staying in for the ride. The email with more information is coming out soon. The ride is an overnight on 4/25 hosted by Gina, Lynn, and Alan.
Stay tuned for future updates on the Premier ride. If you have not secured your reservations for hotels - YOU NEED TO ASAP or you might miss out. Detailed itinerary coming out next month.
A great financial update by Tom Dennis. The P&L will come out next month. We ended the 2025 year with a surplus and there will be a bigger update next month. We are up to 8 new members as of February.
BMMC website profile - members all have a profile. Please add your information there and your picture. If you are not sure how to do that, please speak to Wendy Dickerman.
⚠️Safety⚠️ - David Slepak our Safety Director gave a talk about ear protection. Factors while riding that can make hearing worse - tall windshield, a bad helmet, turbulent air, and 1/2 or 3/4 helmets. When you are on the motorcycle and up to speed the noise level is at high decibels. Wind noise reduces ambient sounds like cars, etc. If you wear ear plugs, they turn down the wind noise not the music noise. If you wear ear plugs it cuts down wind noise but not music noise. Try it. The Slepak’s also handed out 33 decibel ear plugs. A bug thank you for protecting our ears. If you would like more information about this, please speak to David.
💃WOW!! 💃- The ladies hosted a great ride for lunch to Fountain Hills for lunch. The group had a great time and safe riding. The ladies are planning a ride on the 19th of this month. Don’t forget the wow meeting is on the last Wednesday of the month. Stay tuned for details.
