2021 RoadGlide 11,000 miles

A very close friend of mine in Central Ohio is ending his motorcycle career. His last motorcycle which he intends to sell immediately is a very nice road glide with typical upgrades. If anyone is seriously interested in this motorcycle for around $20,000 or maybe a little less, feel free to reach out to me directly and I will put you in touch with my friend.

After reading this why do I feel like a donkey with a carrot hanging from a rope just in front of my nose? I KNOW I NEED 2 bikes but I can't pull the trigger just yet! Enjoy Ohio and see you soon buddy!!

Hon Dah Motorcycle Rally

To any of the Hon Dah peeps - was considering taking RV Van to Hon Dah this weekend and I see there is a bike rally going on. Have any of you been at the rally before. Not much info online and was wondering if this is worth attending. Won’t have a bike with me but would still like to join in festivities if there are any. Any info is helpful. Thanks - Chris

Motorcycle riders are best described as sensation-seekers who value freedom, mindfulness, and community. Defying the "outlaw" stereotypes, the broad community represents a diverse, passionate group of individuals drawn to the open road and a desire to stay mentally present in an automated world. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The overarching character of the broad band of motorcyclists spans several unifying traits: [1, 2]

  • Sensation-Seeking: Riders inherently exhibit higher levels of "sensation-seeking," a psychological trait defined as the pursuit of complex and intense experiences rather than mere recklessness. [1, 2]

  • Mindfulness and Focus: Operating a motorcycle requires unfiltered attention, which often induces a meditative "flow state." Riders use this as mental decompression from fragmented digital lives. [1, 2]

  • Independent and Adventurous: A deep appreciation for independence and exploring new routes is a hallmark of the riding community, with many possessing a strong desire to live authentically. [1, 2]

  • Loyal and Community-Oriented: Despite varying models of motorcycles and riding styles, riders are tied together by a distinct biker code, sharing camaraderie, charity rides, and mutual acknowledgment (like the classic biker wave). [, 2, 3, 4]

Tire Wear Data

Hi I'm researching tires for the Utah trip and wondered if anyone with a large touring bike like Goldwing, Concours 14, BMW K1600 etc. has and real use milage data on Michelin Road 4, 5, or 6 GT. Internet data is all over the board (6k-18K). I'm open to other brands with high milage ratings. Figured because we all ride similarly on similar terrain and temperatures, the data would be most applicable.

My current Shinko Raven 009 tires are getting only 6K Miles on my Concours. Granted they are more of a sport tire...

Thanks.

Thanks, the Michelin W GT's do not come in my size (190 50ZR 17) My bike is originally a "sport bike" only set up for touring by Kawasaki, so tire sizes may be limited to this sort of bike and riding style. Sizes may be my Achillies heel.

Does anyone have real world (Southwest Roads) data on any tire on any large bike (700+lb)? Maybe 5-7K actual mileage is normal and acceptable.

Tire ratings rarely reflect real world mileage clams; however, the Michelin "truck" tires I used to run, clearly outperformed Michelin claims on multiple sets.
