September 2026 Meeting Notes
Mike gave a nice tribute to the 25th Anniversary of September 11. We must remember this day and the thousands of men, women, and children’s lives that were lost. Remember the patriotism we all had after that. Flags were displayed everywhere you went and many jumped into help wherever they could. It would be nice to see a renewed sense of patriotism, again. We all need each other regardless of political affiliation.
Happy ‘Almost end of the heat’ BMMC!
🥳New Members 🥳- Marlon & Suzanne deCastro, Steve Doughty, Dave & Trisha Johnston, Michael & Amy Erwin, Lana Sunderland.
We had a guest Charlie who was introduced to the club by Chuck Knight. PS - hell has frozen over and Chuck bought a new bike.
📚Review of Last Month📚- Last month 46 attendees at the breakfast meeting. We had our board meeting and a nice small dinner social.
The Premier ride was a great success! We have 54 members head out in various ways to Zion. We stopped at the Barnyard in Page for a great lunch. Then from there just an hour on to East Zion Resort. The welcome happy hour did not disappoint. Many people won multiple times on the 50/50. Tom and Kathi had so many prizes and the extent they went to prepare was clearly visible. The best was the person who won #21 - for those of you that know….you know.
The next day the group split up and 17 went to the animal sanctuary. The rest had small rides around the area in Zion, did some hiking, and took advantage of the beautiful weather to hang by the pool. And if I do say so myself, this pool was AMAZING. Two hot tubs, a large pool, and a lazy river. The resort treated us so well they even brought ice up and let us stay well beyond closing time. The rooms were yurts, tents, modern cabins, and even rooms with glass top so you could enjoy the stars. It was a great fit for the BMMC club and everyone loved it. The staff and owners waited on us hand and foot. From there the group headed on to Bryce Canyon where we stayed at Rita’s. Several did day rides around fish lake, highway 12, and through Bryce Canyon. We got lucky and chased the rain all day until it poured on us in Torrey. We were able to wait it out at an amazing cafe where we enjoyed grommet sandwiches and some of the best homemade ice cream around. The ride finished with a Country show at Ebenizers where we danced and sang the night away.
Such an awesome premier ride and no doubt the memories we made will last a lifetime.
🕦Up & Coming🕦- on the 16th there is the dinner social at The Creek. On the 18th we have the 2 night ride to Silver City, NM. The club will stop and have lunch in Superior. November 11th - we have our annual Veterans Day ride to the Veteran’s memorial and ceremony in Anthem sponsored by Chuck & Carleen.
November 21st - lunch ride to Gila hosted by Tom Clement’s
Dec 5th - the annual Christmas Party.
Dec 19th - the annual frosty balls ride hosted by Mike Viola & Nancy Lohmeier.
⚠️Safety⚠️ - We did an exercise on target fixation. Our brains work to connect the dots so it is important when cornering to look ahead at the place you want to go. The reality is that when you are focusing on a corner, your brain is saying do not hit the guardrail which is distracting your brain. So when you as you “fixate” on the end of the corner where you want to be, you will end up there.
