Honor Flight Volunteer Greeters Needed
Good afternoon BMMC,
The Honor flight lunch on October 24 is shaping up to be a great day. We have quite a few volunteers already on the list who will be there to help us greet veterans as they arrive for their reunion lunch. Below is the list that I have so far. If you have messaged me and I missed your name, please text me at 602-463-0123.
Mike Calantropio
Mickey Calantropio
Frank Caruso (+Friend)
Lisa Ruggiero
Leslie & Phil Jensen + guests
Lucia & Hank Wheele + guests
Ed Graham
Gerry Russell
Shelly Hutcheson who also went on an honor flight will be in attendance as a Guardian with the veteran she accompanied so we will be able to greet her as well and thank her for her amazing support.
If you are interested and have not yet responded, please let me know if you would like to join so that we can get a good count. Below is the information on activities and expectations for the day:
Event: Honor Flight Reunion Lunch
Event date: Saturday, October 24
Location: at Elks Lodge #335 at 14424 N 32nd street, Phoenix, AZ 85032(32nd St & Greenway).
Time: Please arrive by 10:45 AM so we’re staged and ready before veterans begin arriving. Lunch for them is at 12pm so we will assist for just over an hour.
What is needed:
- Greeting veterans at the front entrance
- Assisting them out of their vehicles
- Escorting them to the doorway and handing them off to an Honor Flight volunteer
- Creating a warm, patriotic welcome with flags and supportive presence
We ask that you wear Patriotic gear, vests or your Patriot Guard vests if you are a member. If you are interested, this is an active Elks Lodge and you are welcome to hang out and enjoy lunch or a well earned drink afterwards.
If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to Mickey to RSVP:
