On Saturday, August 25, Mike and Carol Lipsky hosted their August in The Pines overnighter to the Hon-Dah Resort and Casino in Pinetop.  Unfortunately, Mike & Carol were not able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.  Around midnight prior to departure, Mike experienced a kidney stone attack and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

 Carol contacted us at 4:30 a.m. from the hospital and gave us the news.  We quickly switched gears and drove to the Lipsky’s home to pick up the hospitality goodies for the event. 

 The weather people had been forecasting heavy thunderstorms for Saturday.  It did look a little threatening, but as promised by the Lipsky’s, we never got a drop of rain.  Twenty six members gathered at the departure point, and headed toward Pinetop. 

 The ride to Pinetop was wonderful.  The weather was cool, the scenery magnificent, and everyone enjoyed the ride.  After checking in, and unloading the bikes, the members met in the casino restaurant for a late lunch.  After lunch, the members split up, with some trying their luck in the casino, others enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, and some rode to Show Low to do some shopping. 

 At 4:30, everyone regrouped in the suite for the club hospitality party.  The party was fun and lively, as we all enjoyed refreshments and snacks that the Lipsky's had procured for us.  Mike and Carol had arranged for everyone to received a crisp $5 Bill, compliments of BMMC, as starter “luck” at the casino.  Following a really fun hospitality party, the members continued the party in the casino.  Some met in the dining room for dinner, while others tried their luck in the casino.  A large group had arranged to meet in the casino lounge for the Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show.  The show was delayed due to a power failure, however, when the power finally came back on, everyone enjoyed listening and dancing to the music!

 Sunday morning was an open return, some members departed very early for the ride home, while others enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the casino, and then headed for the valley of the sun.

 The participating members and BMMC would like to thank Mike & Carol Lipsky for making all the arrangements and providing us with a wonderful trip.  We are sorry that they did not get to participate, however, we are delighted that Mike’s problem has PASSED!
