Vulture Mine Loop Ride Review

There was a lot of excitement in the air when 66 members on 53 motorcycles gathered at the departure point on Saturday morning, January 15th, for the 1st,  3rd Saturday ride of the New Year, “The Vulture Mine Loop.”

Ride Host, Bart Iden welcomed the members and guests and following his pre-ride briefing,  directed the members to one of the 5 pre-assigned riding groups.  Bart also announced that the club would be buying lunch for all of the attendees.  It was a very pleasant morning, as the groups departed for the first 3rd Saturday Ride of the New Year.

Following a brief stop in Wickenburg to top off the tanks, the riders traveled through Old Town Wickenburg, and then onto Vulture Mine Road, toward the lunch destination.  It was a clear beautiful morning, and everyone enjoyed the bright sun and beauty of the Arizona desert.

Following a short brisk ride east on I-10, the riders arrived at Waddell’s Longhorn Coral in anticipation of a hardy lunch.  They were definitely not disappointed, as the very courteous staff at Waddell’s directed the arriving riders to seating on the inside and outside patios.  The service staff quickly took everyone’s order and soon the delicious, “huge lunch servings were served”.

All of the members enjoyed a great lunch, and took advantage of the opportunity to visit with friends and fellow members as they soaked up the delightful afternoon sunshine.  A group of the guys soon gathered at the Horseshoe pits, and enjoyed some competitive games as they worked off their hardy lunch.

Following a relaxing lunch break, and the Horseshoe games, the attendees, gathered up in small groups and headed back toward Phoenix.  As the groups were leaving, everyone was in high praise for the ride and the delightful lunch stop, and was appreciative of the club sponsored lunch.

All of the attendees would like to thank Host, Bart Iden for planning this wonderful Saturday Ride.  The route was superb and Waddell’s Long Horn Corral was a perfect lunch stop.

Also, a special thanks to all of our dedicated Ride Captain Team that led and swept the five riding groups, getting everyone safely to our lunch destination.

We would also like to thank Marcia Henderson, Bob Hickerson, and Roddy Levy for providing the great photos of the event for our Slideshow Presentation.  Great job gal and guys!
