Saturday morning, April 19th, forty-five motorcycles and fifty-one BMMC members gathered for a new twist to our 3rd Saturday Ride. Hosts, Robin Hayward and Bob Edgar not only delivered “perfect motorcycle riding weather, but a great breakfast, and a fun adventure exploring the old Vulture Gold Mine.”

The members met at the Arizona Game & Fish parking lot on Carefree Highway, and all were in high spirits for a great day of riding, eating, socializing, and making new friends.

After Ride Captain, Robin Hayward, along with Ride Captain, Todd Gerber gave a pre-ride briefing, five groups departed for Wickenburg. The group’s first stop was at The Gold Nugget Restaurant in Wickenburg where Robin and Bob had made breakfast reservations for the group. The hungry members were directed to a reserved room at the Golden Nugget for a delicious hardy breakfast. At the pre-ride briefing, Robin announced the club was picking up the breakfast expenses for the group (another surprise perk). There was quite a roar of chatter and laughter as members visited and enjoyed one another’s company in the special dining room.

Following a great breakfast, members gathered in the restaurant parking lot for a quick pre-ride briefing and group assignments prior to departure for the Vulture Gold Mine. Upon arrival at the Vulture Mines, the members split into small groups and enjoyed a walking self guided tour of the old mine and its history. As the members completed their tour, they could ride with the group back to Phoenix, or select one of the alternative routes provided by the hosts.

The participating members would like to convey their sincere thanks and appreciation to Robin Hayward and Bob Edgar for hosting this fun ride. Also, a special thanks to Jim & Michelle Boomer and Todd Gerber for their assistance in helping to plan the ride and for their assistance with the pre-ride briefings and group assignments.

Also, a special thanks to our fantastic Ride Captains for leading and sweeping the groups and for their commitment and efforts in getting us all there safely. Of course, thanks to all the members who supported this fun 3rd Saturday Ride.

Also, thanks to Dave & Charlotte Hunter, Sharon Harris, and Mike Wesnoski for the great photos
