San Tan Flats Ride Review &
Slideshow
BMMC 3rd Saturday Ride for the
month of October
On Saturday
morning, October 15th, fifty-four members on
thirty-six bikes joined ride host, Dan Wood for our 3rd
Saturday of the month ride to San Tan Flats.
The excited members joined up at the departure
point where Dan divided the riders into three pre-assigned
riding groups in preparation for departure.
Following
Dan’s pre-ride briefing, the groups departed for a
wonderful ride through Rio Verde, passed the fountain, and
onto Beeline Highway for the ride to Tonto Basin Market
Place.
Following the gas and bio stop, the groups departed for
the next leg of the ride passed Roosevelt Lake, through
Globe, to Superior for a short rest stop.
Then it was off to our final destination, San Tan
Flats.
The
early Saturday morning temperature was perfect for riding,
then as we approached mid-day, it really started to warm
up and by the time the riders reached the restaurant at
San Tan Flats, they were hot, hungry and thirsty.
Dan had the staff alerted for our arrival and the
lunch orders moved along swiftly as members devoured
delicious hamburgers, and other great menu offerings.
The
restaurant has a huge outside eating area, however, with
the unseasonable hot weather; everyone opted for inside
seating and the comfort of the air conditioning.
The members enjoyed a slow paced lunch, as they
socialized with fellow members and made some new friends.
Following the delicious lunch, and time to cool
down and hydrate, the members departed in small groups for
the open return to Phoenix.
All of
the participating members would like to thank host, Dan
Wood for planning this wonderful ride and delightful lunch
destination. A
number of the members had never been to San Tan Flats
before, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful ride
up the Beeline, passed Roosevelt Lake, and through the
beautiful Superior canyons.
As the members departed many voiced their desires
to repeat this ride in 2012.
We
would like to also thank our Ride Captain Team for getting
everyone safely to our lunch destination.
Also a special thanks to Leslie Jensen, and Jo
Ricker for taking the great photos for our slideshow
review.
