The May 12th
through 16th Premier Ride of the year was presented as the
“Temecula Spectacular.” The ride definitely lived up to
its name and all who attended agreed that it was truly a
“SPECTACULAR” Event.
Ride Hosts, Glenn & Charlie Dietrich, Ruthie Salant and
Dan Wood, planned a fantastic four nights, five day ride
to beautiful Temecula, California. The hosts knew they had
a winner when 110 members signed up for their fun riding
adventure.
The Temecula Ride had everything, fantastic weather,
beautiful scenery, awesome motorcycle riding routes,
twisty mountain roads, cool rides to the ocean, fabulous
wineries, sensational hospitality/dinner parties, and a
delightful hotel. It was outstanding!
Due to the large number of participants, the hosts
implemented an open riding concept, allowing the members
to form into small groups and travel to Temecula. The
members were offered an option of three different routes
to choose from to Temecula. Most of the members chose the
longer scenic ride through Brawley, while others selected
the medium route, with some Interstate and back roads. One
large group departed on Tuesday, over nighted in Palm
Springs and had an easy ride to Temecula on Wednesday
morning.
Upon arrival at the hotel, the members checked into their
pre-registered rooms, freshened up, and joined the hosts
for the Welcome Hospitality Party. The guests enjoyed a
delicious assortment of Hors D’ oeuvres and open bar as
they discussed the days ride and planned their schedule
for the balance of the trip. As the guests left the
hospitality party, they were presented with a gift koozie
wine tote, and wine opener, with the BMMC logo as a very
“useful” remembrance of their stay in Temecula. The gifts
were put to good use as members enjoyed their purchases at
the local wineries.
The hosts provided information and routes to the members
for the three optional day rides. Each morning, everyone
would gather at the hotel complimentary breakfast and
decide on the days ride and head out for another wonderful
adventure. In addition, Tom Clements and Gene Adee hosted
led rides each day for anyone interested. Everyone
thoroughly enjoyed the Julian/Palomar Loop and the San
Juan Capistrano Loop. A number of riders traveled to San
Diego and Coronado Island, while others took a day off
from riding and visited the many local outstanding
wineries in Temecula. The members were treated to
absolutely perfect weather during the five day event.
On Thursday, and Friday evenings, it was an enthusiastic
crowd that poured into the hotel bar to enjoy the
complimentary cocktail party. It was a perfect time for
everyone to reunite and share the day’s experiences.
Following a “very” lively (and noisy) cocktail party, the
members would select one of the many restaurant choices
from the host’s provided list, and head out on the town to
enjoy the delicious cuisine at a variety of local
restaurants.
On Saturday evening, the guests joined their hosts for a
festive Farewell Party. Following a lively cocktail party,
the members were treated to a delicious club sponsored
buffet dinner. Following dinner, the DJ cranked up the
music and in BMMC tradition the members filled the dance
floor, and enjoyed a variety of great tunes as they danced
the evening away. It was one of those magical evenings
filled with warm friendships and fond memories.
All of the participants would like to extend their sincere
appreciation to Glenn, Charlie, Ruthie and Dan for this
fantastic event. Everything was first class! The spoke
rides were all spectacular, the evening events were
delightful, and the hotel accommodations were outstanding.
Thank you guys for searching out this fantastic
destination and for all of your hard work putting it
together for our enjoyment. You are the best!!!!
We would also like to thank Gene Adee, and Tom Clements
for leading the club pre-assigned group ride to and from
Temecula and leading groups on the spoke rides. We would
also like to thank Gene & Tom for planning the outstanding
spoke rides. Nicely done gentlemen!
What more can we say, the Temecula Spectacular was
“Spectacular” in every way!!
Also, a special
thanks to Bob Hickerson, Brian Anton, Ruthie
Salant, and Jimmy Boomer for providing the superb photographs..
