Fifty-seven riders and forty-five motorcycles met on the west side of town to enjoy the beautiful fall weather on the ride to the Painted Rocks. It was a clear day with no wind and temperatures that started in the 50s and ended in the high 70s…perfect!

Over twenty Eastsiders met for breakfast at the Good Egg at Thompson Peak and Hayden and then followed Tom Clements over to the Westside starting point. Co-host Bob Cannon had stocked his SUV with lots of drinks and snacks that were much appreciated at our picnic at the Rocks.

Five groups were formed with the following Ride Captain assignments: Group 1: Tom Clements and Randy Bierbaum. Group 2: Bart and Kevin Iden. Group 3: Gene Adee and Bon Handelman. Group 4: Don Walton and Glenn Murray. Group 5: Robert Martinez and Don Morosic. A big “Thank You!” to our ride captains who volunteered once again to lead us safely to our destination.

A gas/bio-break/food stop was made at the Love’s truck stop near the entrance to I-8 in Gila Bend, then the groups proceeded west for 11 miles before turning off on Painted Rock Dam road towards the petroglyph site. All members and guest arrived in good order and enjoyed their picnic as they toured the well-documented ancient site. The return was left to the individuals’ discretion, with seven riders joining Tom and Gene for a return ride back through Gila Bend and then following Maricopa highway to Maricopa and back to Phoenix via I-10.

Good weather, good friends, an interesting variety of scenery and history…just another outstanding BMMC adventure!

All of the participants would like to thank ride hosts, Tom Clements and Bob Cannon for planning and leading this great Saturday day ride.  Thank you guys, it was a beautiful ride, and a wonderful event.

We would also like to thank our dedicated team of Ride Captains for leading and sweeping our riding groups.  And special thanks for the great photos taken by Mike Wiz, Randy Bierbaum, and Bob Cannon..
