LUNCHIN’
AT BAGDAD RIDE SETS NEW CLUB ATTENDANCE RECORD FOR 3RD
SATURDAY DAY RIDES.
On Saturday, February 21st, ‘a new record was set for
BMMC’, as (78) members on (61) motorcycles gathered for
our February 3rd Saturday of the month Ride to Bagdad.
It was a glorious cool morning as the members began
arriving, and you could feel the excitement soaring as the
motorcycles came roaring in. It was really cool to see all
the motorcycles lining up. Everyone was dressed in their
warm riding attire, and really looking forward to the fun
ride that had been planned for them.
Ride host, Jim Whiting welcomed the members, introduced
guests and delivered his excellent pre-ride briefing. Due
to the large number of members participating, the members
had been pre-assigned to one of five riding groups. Jim
introduced the Ride Captains of each group and then
advised the members of their assigned group number.
The Ride Captains then held personalized briefings with
their individual groups, and the first group lined up for
departure, (Our club webmaster, Ray Williams was poised
right there to take photos of each member as they
departed, see slideshow). The remaining groups departed in
five- minute intervals.
The first bio/gas break was at the Shell Station in
Wickenburg, and members had a few minutes to visit briefly
after fueling their bikes. Soon we were back on the road
again, and headed toward Yarnell Hill and the super road
to Bagdad. This was the first time that a number of the
members had traveled to Bagdad and they all thoroughly
enjoyed the curves, hills and scenery on the fun two lane
traffic free road to Bagdad.
Our destination in Bagdad was at the Circle Bar Steakhouse
where Ride Host, Jim Whiting had arranged a buffet lunch
for us served in a reserved dining room exclusively for
BMMC. It was a hearty lunch, complete with your choice of
delicious Hamburgers, or a Grilled Chicken Sandwich,
complete with salad, chips, beverages and all the fixings.
To celebrate the record breaking attendance for the ride,
Jim announced, (to the delight of everyone), that BMMC was
picking up the lunch cost for the group. The owners of the
Circle Bar Steakhouse passed out raffle tickets to the
members during lunch, and raffled off 10 T-shirts to the
winners, (see photos of winners in slideshow).

hand side returning from Bagdad
We would like to sincerely thank our host, Jim Whiting for
planning and arranging for this record setting wonderful
3rd Saturday Ride. It truly was a fantastic ride, a
delightful lunch and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the
event. Also, we want to thank our hard working Ride
Captain team for getting everyone there safely and thanks
to Ray & Sally Williams, Roddy Levy and Bob Hickerson for
taking all the great photos for the slideshow.
And thanks to the participating members for supporting the
Lunchin’ at Bagdad Ride and making it our largest attended
3rd Saturday Ride.
