On Saturday, November 7, 2009, hosts, Ray & Sally Williams and their committee presented the 5th annual Lynn & Gerry Snodgres Memorial Lobster Boil Extravaganza.

Ray & Sally and their committee greeted one-hundred twenty-two participants at the lovely Legend Trails Community Center. It was a beautiful Arizona evening, and as the excited members arrived, they were given their name-tags and asked to choose a lucky coin from the treasure chest in hopes of winning a “Lobster Boil Surprise”, that would be presented later in the evening.

The members were then directed to the patio for a festive cocktail party. The lively group enjoyed the very nice selections of wines, and a great variety of Keg & Bottled Beers. As the members enjoyed socializing with old friends and making new friends, they were treated to a selection of light appetizers.

While the members enjoyed the festive cocktail party, the hard working committee members were busy behind the scenes preparing the delicious dinner. The fresh Maine lobsters were in the pot, corn had been shucked and was cooking, and the new potatoes were boiling. While the guys were attending to the outside cooking, the ladies were busy in the kitchen preparing a delicious Caesar salad, and all the last minute condiments.

Soon hosts, Ray & Sally invited their guests inside to be seated for dinner. Ron Small greeted the members and thanked the hosts and committee for producing this great event. Ron then introduced Sally Williams who explained how the Lynn & Gerry Snodgres Lobster Boil was originated. Sally then asked the guests to join her in a very inspirational toast. She then announced that dinner was ready and the guests were invited to start lining up for the delicious Lobster Boil Feast.

The guests helped themselves to the assortment of delicious food, and then were served a huge lobster that averaged 1.7 lbs. each; that was literally larger than their plate. The guests were amazed at how fast the committee served one hundred-twenty-two attendees. The entire group was sitting down and eating in under fifteen minutes.

It was a noisy lively group as everyone was having fun devouring their lobsters. There seem to be a least one expert at each table who helped the novices on the proper way to eat a lobster. Everyone mutually agreed that these were the best tasting lobsters that they had ever eaten.

As the committee moved through the group collecting the remnants of the lobster feast, dessert time was announced. The guests rushed to the serving tables and helped themselves to a delicious assortment of decadent desserts.

Following desserts, Vickie asked the members to dig out their lucky coins for the Lobster Boil Surprise drawing. The numbers were called and three guests took home $100 each.

It was now time to PARTY!! The very high spirited guests moved to the dance floor and danced to the music of the evening’s DJ, David Rhineheimer. They danced and danced! It was an amazing magical evening with everyone connecting and having a wonderful time. All too soon, it was time for the last dance to be played.

As the guests were departing, everyone was expressing what a special evening it was and just how much they had enjoyed the Lobster Boil. You could feel the closeness of good friends as they said goodnight to each other and headed home with the memories of a wonderful evening.

The guest would all like to thank event host, Ray & Sally Williams for delivering another spectacular event. Together with their devoted committee, they presented one of the very best Lobster Boils to date.
