 4^th Annual Christmas Lights Ride Review

On Thursday, December 10^th, 2009, forty-five BMMC members on twenty-one motorcycles and eight cars headed towards Lake Havasu in search of Christmas Lights and Margaritas.  It was a beautiful Arizona morning, however, the temperatures were very low and heated riding apparel was definitely appropriate. 

Ride Hosts, Gene & Jeannie Adee welcomed the riders, and directed them to one of four riding groups for departure.  Jim Moore departed prior to the first group as our “advanced scout”, and reported periodically to Gene Adee with updates on the route.

The members enjoyed a delightful Mexican buffet lunch at the Blue Water Casino in Parker.  Everyone took the opportunity to get off the bikes, warm up with a hot lunch and enjoyed socializing with their fellow riders.

Following lunch, the temperatures were warming up as the riders proceeded along the picturesque California side of the Colorado River, then across Parker Dam and into Lake Havasu City. 

Upon arrival in Lake Havasu, everyone checked into their hotels and met with friends to explore the area around the London Bridge.  Some members even took the opportunity to get flu shots at the near by mall. 

It was then time to rejoin the other members on the patio at the Javelina Cantina for the club sponsored hospitality party.  The patio offered a spectacular view of the London Bridge and the beautiful Christmas Lights.  Jeannie Adee, Carol Lipsky and Kathy Wasson welcomed the members with name tags, drink tickets and the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets.  The attendees were treated to an assortment of delicious appetizers as they discussed the days ride with friends. 

During the festive cocktail party, the winning numbers were called for the raffle and lucky winners received two cash prizes and several items that were donated by the Javelina Cantina.  Following the cocktail party, several members moved to the dining room for dinner, while others explored the area and had dinner at various restaurants. 

Friday morning, some members returned to Phoenix on their own, while others joined the planned group ride home with a lunch stop at the Kofa Café. 

All of the participants would like to thank Gene & Jeannie Adee for planning and hosting our 4^th annual Christmas Lights Ride.  We would also like to thank our Ride Captain Group for leading and sweeping, and Carol Lipsky and Kathy Wasson for assisting with the hospitality party.

Also, a special thanks to all the participants for supporting this fantastic ride and very festive pre-Christmas Party.  It was truly another superb BMMC event!
