On Saturday, April 18th, 63 BMMC members on (42) motorcycles gathered for our April 3rd Saturday of the month Ride to Bisbee. This was the clubs first overnight ride for 2009. An additional 17 members on 13 motorcycles had either formed their own groups or rode to Bisbee on Friday for a longer weekend.

It was a perfect morning as the members began arriving, and you could feel the excitement soaring as the motorcycles came roaring in. It was really cool to see all the motorcycles lining up.

Ride host, Robert Martinez welcomed the members, introduced guests and delivered his excellent pre-ride briefing. Robert introduced the Ride Captains for each of the four groups and allowed the members to select their own riding group.

The first bio/gas break was at a Gas stop in Florence, where members had a few minutes to visit briefly after fueling their bikes. Soon we were back on the road again, and headed toward Tucson for a second gas stop at the Chevron a Chevron Station. It was then time to head to Sonoita for lunch at The Steak Out Restaurant followed by our final gas stop. With lunch completed it was time to finish our ride to the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee.

Upon arriving in Bisbee the members were directed to a parking area across from the hotel as parking in front of the hotel is minimal. In addition to a club sponsored parking area we had also arranged for an individual to sit with our bikes all night.

Members had then checked into their rooms and headed for a club sponsored Social hour from 5:00-7:00 along with appetizers.

We would like to sincerely thank our hosts, Robert Martinez & Paula Scardina for planning and arranging for this wonderful overnight ride. It truly was a fantastic ride with a tasty lunch and  a delightful cocktail reception!   Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.  Also, we want to thank our hard working Ride Captain team for getting everyone there safely and thanks to Sharon Harris, Roddy Levy and Paul Czarnik for taking all the great photos for the slideshow.
