Lunch at Tortilla Flat
The cold morning temperature did not detour the BMMC members
from enjoying the first 3rd Saturday of the month ride for the
New Year.
Fifty-three members on forty-four motorcycles arrived at the Ft.
McDowell Conoco Station bundled up and ready to enjoy the fun
ride to Tortilla Flat. Ride Host, Bart Iden was grounded by the
flu bug and Ride Captain Coordinator; Tom Clements graciously
stepped in to host the event.
Tom divided the forty-four motorcycles into five groups and
assigned Ride Captain Leaders and Sweeps. Following an
informative and thorough pre-ride briefing, Tom released the
groups. By departure time (9:30 am), the weather had warmed
nicely, and everyone enjoyed a very pleasant ride to Tortilla
Flat.
The fifty-three members gathered at the Superstition Saloon for
lunch. The restaurant was very well staffed and had more than
ample seating for our group. The service was outstanding, the
food was excellent as the members enjoyed a hardy lunch and the
opportunity to socialize with old friends and make some new
friends.
Following lunch the members gathered into small groups for the
open return ride home.
We would like to thank Bart Iden for planning our first 3rd
Saturday Ride and a special thanks to Tom Clements for taking on
the hosting responsibilities for the ride. We would also like to
thank the following Ride Captains for leading and Sweeping our
groups.
Chris Christner
Dave Coman
Ed Graham
Dan Hancock
Chuck Knight
John Logsdon
Robert Martinez
Bill Scardina
Ron Small
And thanks to all of the fifty-three members who braved the cold
morning to make our first 3rd Saturday Ride of the year a
resounding success!
