On Sunday, March 30th, hosts, Ray & Sally Williams, and Alan Wagener & Lynne Whitcomb & their committee presented their Corned Beef & Cabbage Feast to one-hundred and three Black Mountain Motorcycle Club members at the lovely Legend Trail Community Center.

A beautiful sunny Arizona afternoon welcomed BMMC members as they gathered on the outside patio of the community center. As you entered you could immediately smell the wonderful aromas of the succulent corned beef briskets cooking. Chefs, Alan Wagener, and Ray Williams were in high spirits and very much in control of the menu that was being served. You could feel their calmness, no problem with these “Chefs” feeding 103 folks!

Hosts, Ray & Sally, and Alan & Lynne welcomed their guests and although a little breezy, many members gathered on the outside patio enjoying cocktails, socializing, and meeting new friends. After a very festive cocktail hour, guests were invited to come in and be seated for dinner.

Ron Small then thanked our hosts and their committee for creating this superb festive event for everyone’s enjoyment, and then called Sally Williams to the podium for her very inspirational toast for the evening. It was a lovely touching toast, and like other BMMC events, you could feel the love and closeness in the room.

Guests were then invited to the beautiful buffet to enjoy the “All you can eat Corned Beef & Cabbage Feast.” We all know that presentation of food is so crucial, and what a great job these chefs and their committee did accomplishing just that. The new red potatoes that were served had individually been peeled by design with a strip, and committee member, Jim Whiting was the master of this job! Turnips, rutabagas, parsnips, carrots and onions topped with fresh parsley never looked so lovely. It was a hungry group that lined up for the succulent buffet. Their plates were piled high with the delicious offerings of the evening. A lot of the members took advantage of the “all you can eat venue”, and returned for seconds and thirds. (Be sure to check out the slideshow to appreciate the photos of the buffet table).

The members enjoyed lovely music during the cocktail hour and dinner, provided by Omar Mondragon. Following dinner, the announcement was made that desserts were now being served. In normal BMMC style, the members headed to the dessert tables filled with a vast assortment of decadent desserts including Cheesecake, Double Chocolate Cake, Lemon Pound Cake, Carrot Cake, Coconut Cream Pies, cookies, and the hit of the evening, Hand Dipped Strawberries. Special mention goes to Pam Jackson for bringing her scrumptious Banana Nut Roll!  You might think that the feast would have slowed everyone down, however not the case. The bar was open, Omar cranked up the music and the members gathered on the dance floor to enjoy a wonderful variety of very enjoyable party music, and party they did!

As the members were dancing and enjoying the evening the committee was hard at work clearing tables, washing dishes, scrubbing cooking pots, and packing up equipment.

Omar continued to crank out great music for the pleasure of the dancing members, as others gathered in groups socializing and making new friends. All too soon, it was time to close the evening. As the members said their good-byes to the hosts, and committee, they were filled with appreciation for the wonderful evening.

It was a fantastic evening and all the participants would like to thank the hosts, Ray & Sally Williams, and Alan Wagener and Lynne Whitcomb for delivering a superb event.  The feast was a tremendous undertaking and the hosts were supported by a group of hard working committee members. They arrived early for set-up and preparation and stayed late for cleanup.
