The great pleasure derived
from riding motorcycles is the most common thread shared by BMMC
members. The more we ride the more comfortable we feel and the more
we enjoy it. Getting out on the road and seeing this wonderful part
of the world on two wheels is truly a feeling of freedom.
To make it easier and more fun to just get-up-and-go, BMMC has put
together a package of ride suggestions for you. All you have to do
is pack, gas, and go. The planning is already done.
The maps and ride descriptions show eight rides from the Phoenix
area: There are four rides of approximately 500 miles each and four
rides of approximately 1000 miles each. Each ride is perfect for a
nice, easy, scenic, two or three-day adventure – and can be ridden
anytime you desire.
Each 500/1000 Mile Ride package includes an overview map of the
route, expanded maps of certain areas for clarification, a written
list of turn-by-turn instructions with segment mileage and total
mileage, recommended hotel/motels, plus a Garmin GPS file. It is
recommended that you download and print the material, then match it
to a preprinted map. Feel free, also, to modify the route to your
liking.
Each route begins and ends at the Conoco Station on Hwy 87 opposite
the Fort McDowell Casino (near Fountain Hills), making it easy to
ride the routes in the reverse direction also. Approximately half
way around the 500 mile rides, and in thirds on the 1000 mile rides,
you will see a recommended overnight stay with a couple of lodging
suggestions that won’t break the bank. Of course, where you want to
stay is up to you, so don’t feel obligated to choose the city or
lodging suggested. Should you desire to ride any of the 500
mile routes in one day, that can be easily accomplished. It’ll
require approximately eleven hours to complete it, with bio, gas,
and food stops included.
So, what’s holding you back? Get some friends together and go make a
few memories! From this page, you can navigate to any of the
eight routes (four 500 milers & four 1000 milers). Just click
on the route in which you are interested.
These are
recreational rides for your enjoyment. There is no sign-up or
ride validation procedure for these rides.
